Trauma-informed practices in education have become increasingly necessary, and the collective trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this need for students and staff alike. The Collaborative Learning for Educational Achievement (CLEAR) program is designed to create safe, predictable, and consistent educational environments that are sustainable for schools; through a systems change model over a 3-year period, the program aims to lessen the effects of traumatic stress and build collective resilience. Participants in this institute will: gain an overview of the impacts of traumatic stress on learning and behavior and an introduction to the CLEAR framework; hear from a panel of administrators who have implemented CLEAR in their schools about successes, challenges, and lessons learned; and engage in a working session about how to begin the process of healing in their own schools.

FROM THE DESK OF: SCHOOL COUNSELOR MRS. MEUMANN
Fulton Elementary School
Here are some easy summer learning tips:
Summer reading should be FUN reading. Encourage your child to read anything and everything that interests him or her. A great way to start the end of the school year is with a special trip to the library or bookstore.
Have fun with numbers. Find creative ways to practice math by asking your child to help tally the bill at the grocery store, calculate time, or follow a recipe.
Turn off the screens. A little bit of screen time is okay, but too much is not healthy. Monitor and limit screen time in the summer just as you would during the school year.
Make art-Let the summer months be when your child discovers that he or she has the amazing ability to create through art.
Go outside-Enjoy a bike ride, go for a walk, visit a park, blow bubbles, draw with sidewalk chalk
